      "The Magnolia Capital of Oklahoma" — is a great place to live, work and Click to Enlargeraise a family. The community of 14,000 residents is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 70 and U.S. Highways 69/75. Durant is located less than 1.5 hours north of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

     Durant is home to many great attractions such as beautiful Lake Texoma, the Annual Magnolia Festival of Oklahoma, Fort Washita Historical Site, the Three Valley Museum, historic downtown Durant and the Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival.

     The basis of a great education begins with the Durant Public School System. With three elementary schools, Durant Intermediate School, Durant Middle School and Durant High School, you can be sure that your children will receive the best education possible.

     Durant has some of the best post-secondary educational opportunities available anywhere. Durant is home to a top-ranked vocational-technical school — Kiamichi Technology Center — and an outstanding four-year university in Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The picturesque campus of Southeastern is known as the "Campus Of A Thousand Magnolias."

Since 1978, the tribe has grown from 75 employees to over 1,500 workers. Under the leadership of Chief Gregory E. Pyle, the tribe continues to focus emphasis on education and currently graduates more college students than any other Indian tribe in the nation.

     Durant has one of the best-educated and most productive labor pools available anywhere.
