Thank you for your interest in the Durant Chamber of Commerce! We are a voluntary organization of business and professional people committed to develop, market and promote Durant and the surrounding area.
     By joining the Durant Area Chamber of Commerce, you will join hundreds of businesses, industries and individuals who work daily to improve the entire community.
     The Chamber is directly involved in a number of projects and services benefiting its members and the entire community. Our staff partners with the City of Durant in economic development efforts to recruit new businesses and industries to the area. In addition, the Durant Area Chamber of Commerce staff can help existing businesses with financing, business planning and other services, including marketing and advertising strategy. We have developed a close partnership with the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center and Rural Enterprises of Oklahoma, Inc. both of which are headquartered in Durant.
     A familiar sight at the opening of new businesses and industries are the Chamber's Red Coat Ambassadors. The Chamber sponsors ribbon cuttings, presided over by the Red Coats, which provide free advertising through media and networking.
     The annual Chamber Banquet is one of the communities best attended events. Each February, outstanding business and Chamber volunteers are recognized. And the event always features a nationally recognized after-dinner speaker.
     Throughout the year, the Chamber sponsors and participates in a number of events designed to improve the already high quality of life we enjoy in the "City of Magnolias." Our staff implements effective programs for community development enacted by the Board of Directors. They nurture growth and prosperity by serving as a research and information center for prospective businesses, industries and visitors to the community. The Chamber has a wealth of information available about Durant, Lake Texoma and the entire Bryan County area.
     The Chamber responds to literally thousands of telephone calls, faxes, emails and letters each year. When individuals seek specific goods and services in the Durant area, the Chamber refers ONLY its members. This service alone is worth the minimal annual membership fee.
     A regular newsletter keeps Chamber members informed about the organization's activities. In addition, the newsletter gives our members the opportunity to advertise to some of the Durant area's most active citizens and organizations: fellow Chamber members.
     Clearly, your membership investment in the Durant Area Chamber of Commerce works in many different ways; it's not just an investment in the Chamber, it is an investment in our community and in our citizens.
